CEO and Founder of the Mzcongo Foundation Laetitia Kibonge was a victim of rape and abuse as a child, She is able to relate to the street children of Kinshasa on a personal level.
Although Laetitia was able to migrate to the USA, her heart always ached for the kids who were left in Congo with no help. Most of the street kids were also victims of rape and abuse and were kicked out of their homes. Some lost their parents leaving them with no one to take care of them and were forced to turn to prostitution in order to survive.
Understanding that most of these children do not want to be in the street, Laetitia made It her mission to help them get to safety and create a better life for them. Laetitia feels that she too could have been one of those children in the street had she not been given a chance to migrate to America for a better life. Therefore, her heart goes out to those children and she wants to do everything in her power to help them get out of that misery.
